MATH COACH'S CORNER

S.W.L. Math Coach

 

I am introducing myself for those who do not know me. As a current Grade 8 French Immersion homeroom teacher who has spent 13 years in education, 5 years as Numeracy Lead Teacher at S.W.L. public School with Honour Specialist in Mathematics, I have the facilitation skills and the knowledge which I believe I can make a significant contribution to our team.

My name is Adel Messiha and I have taught math for thirteen years with Peel Board and York Region District School Board. This year I am taking on a new role as the 2-8 Math Coach.  I am extremely excited to start this new adventure in our school!

 

There will be several ways I will be spending my time.  I will be supporting new staff, assisting teachers with their math mapping, finding the gaps, and supplying you with any data that will help support and differentiate with your students, etc. 

 

My main goal is to support you with your math classes to better meet all students’ needs. I will try to contact you by a monthly electronic Newsletter. 

 

As the school year gets going, I will be available to work with you on planning Three-Part Math lessons, visiting web resources, practicing Math software, and helping with other math needs.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any of your math needs by clicking on the home tab and fill the "Request a week coach session" form.
